Water scarcity Hits Lokoja

Residents of Lokoja the Kogi state capital are grappling with water scarcity following the shutdown of the greater Lokoja Water Treatment Plant on March 27th. The scarcity has affected the production and distribution of sachet water or pure water as many of the manufacturers source their water from the public water works. According to reports, many of the manufacturers of pure water have closed down operations while those still in production have increased the prices from N100 per bag to N120 per bag.
