Captain Idris wada , aspirant on the platform of the PDP in the Novermber 16 2019 governorship election in kogi state has promised to institutionalise power shift in the body politics of state to douse tensions across the state.
He disclosed that although the party was robbed in the 2015 governorship election, which has truncated the programmes of his administration appealed to delegates to give him another opportunity to redeem the stolen mandate.
Wada disclosed this Friday at Odo ere , headquarters of Yagba West Local Government Council, when he visited the party Excos and stakeholders to solicit for their votes at the September 3 ,2019 delegates election of the PDP.
He reminded the people that although , he had made some mistates in his first tenure which he said was not deliberate said he is ready to correct those mistakes.
He noted that his election is going to be facilited by the good people of the party hence the government has become their own urging them to consider his pedigree while making choices for September 3, 2019.
He disclosed that while in the office he convinced the FG to partner with Dangote Cement Company for the reconstruction of Obajana – Kabba road which he said has been completed.
He said if by the grace of God he is elected , he will work assiduously again with FG to complete the entire stretch of expressway from Kabba to Yagba West.
He explained that he has only four years tenure which he promised to ensure smooth rotation of power to kogi west stressing that he has been an advocate of organised power shift
He disclosed that he has worked out smooth strategy for power rotation adding that he is already to work with well meaning kogi citizens to salvage the state from decay.
He promised to revamp the Agricultural programme at Alape that was truncated by the succeeding government lamented at the state of deprivation that has befell the state.
Wada assured youths and women that in his last administration, he gave prominence to their welfare stressed that he will redouble the efforts if elected.
Responding , a stalwart of the party in Yagba west Chief Dare commended Captain Wada for his forthrightness while he governed the state while assuring him of their total votes appeal for his commitment to the power shift philosophy which he noted is long overdue.
He added that the state has never witnessed these high rates of suicides and deaths among the civil servants and pensioners arising from non payment of salaries and pensions decried appalling level of rots across the state caused by the present administration.
Another speaker, the LG party Youth leader Segun Aina assured him of their supports in the elections asked for a place for the youths in his administration.
