The President of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Comrade Oladele John Nihi in company of other Nigerian youths on Wednesday, led a protest to the Nigerian Police Force Headquarters against Senator Elisha Abbo representing Adamawa North in the 9th senate in Abuja.
The protest was in response to a video which went viral on social media platforms of Senator Elisha who was caught on camera assaulting a Nigerian lady in a sex toy store in Abuja.
According to him he is more concerned because “the senator who is been discussed is the youngest senator in the newly inaugurated 9th senate. If the allegation after investigation is found to be true, we see it as a great setback to our movement for youth inclusion in governance/politics and the NOT TOO YOUNG TO RUN Movement”
Nihi who on his Facebook page wrote “even though Senator Elisha Abbo is officially above 35years of age stipulated In AU charter and Nigerian Youth Policy. His action and indeed actions of all young people in elective and appointive positions is of great concern to us because they will be used to judge our readiness to take over the leadership of this country”
Meanwhile, Senator Elisha has denied the allegation stating that the video was distorted and the incident happened before he became a senator.
