NUJ President harps on life after Death Condole with National officer

ATABOR JULIUS, LOKOJA.

The President of Nigeria Union Journalists (NUJ) Mr Chris Isiguzo has urged Journalists to be conscious of lives after death to ensure that they carry out their duties with highest sense of responsibility.

The president gave the charge at Ajaka headquarters of Igalamela/ Odolu Local Government Area of kogi state while on a condolence visit to the families of a national officer of the union Alih Atabor who lost his senior brother. The president while commiserating with the wife of the deceased Madam Festus Attai Atabor said the deceased lived a fulfilled life and urged the family to immortalise his good works.

Isiguzo admonished the family to have the fortitude to bear the loss saying that God is the giver and take the life at his own will. He said he was already part and parcel of the family through their Son Comrade Alih Atabor who worked tirelessly to ensure his election.

He added that when the deceased Festus Atabor was in the hospital, the union did its best to ensure his recovery but God decided to call him home, called on the family to accept it as the will of God.” We were in touch with the family in the hospital. We didn’t know he will die suddenly. However, we said we must come here because we are part of the family.

“Our prayer is that God will grant the family fortitude to bear the loss. No matter what we say now, we cannot bring him back to life. It is only God who determines how long one should live on earth. Hence, I urged you to take it as an act of God.

Speaking on behalf of the family, comrade Alih Atabor the junior brother of the deceased and a former Chairman of the kogi state council of NUJ commended the president for associating with the family at their time of sorry.

He called on God to grant him wisdom to Pilot the affairs of the Union while pledging massive support for the president to succeed.
