His Royal Majesty, Idakwo Micheal Ameh Oboni II, the Attah Igala , Chairman, Igala Traditional Area Council and president kogi state traditional council has invoked the spirits of his ancestors to deal ruthlessly with the perpetrators of the last Saturday elections violence that led to deaths of innocent persons and wanton destruction of property across Igala/Bassa nation
Addressing Journalists in his palace in Idah weekend , the ancestral home of Igala Kingdom, the angry Atah Igala warned politicians and perpetrators of the dastardly act to seek spiritual redress and to avoid a repeat on the State Assembly election to avoid being consumed by the gods of his fathers.
The Royal father lamented the spate of violence that ensued across Igala land saying the royal fathers will no longer fold their hands for politicians to turn the kingdom into a slaughter slab.
He wondered why brothers turned against each other with sophisticated weapons in an election which supposed to be a celebration of independence of electing leaders to represent the people.
He reminded the perpetrators that those who lived by the sword shall die by the same sword warning them against a repeat in the March 9, state Assembly in election and the supplementary election into National Assembly in the zone
Flanked by other thirty traditional rulers from across the Kingdom, the Attah Igala who was visibly upset described politics as a game of numbers and not a game to unleash terror , hence , he said he has handed over the perpetrators to the gods for punishment.
lamenting that while the other zones –Central and West– voted with their senses the Igalas who are supposed to provide political roadmap went up in flames with dire consequences on their political equations in the state.
While calling on parents to caution their children and wards to desist from being used by politicians, urged online media practitioners to refrain from sensational reportage hinting that those who pride in violence would not be spared by the ancestors.
It would recalled that no fewer than four Igala sons including a 300 level undergraduate, Daniel Usman were killed by their Igala politicians in the just concluded Saturday’s presidential and national assembly elections in Kogi east while houses and other valuable properties were destroyed.
