Nigeria police has said that the Nigerian Armed Forces and the Nigeria police force are not at loggerhead contrary to the news making around over electoral violence during the presidential elections in some states.
The Nigeria police public relations officer ACP Frank Mba made this known while addressing journalists at a joint section of the Armed Forces and the Nigeria police at the defence headquarters in Abuja ahead of the supplementary elections scheduled for Saturday 23rd of March 2019 in some states.
It could be worthy of note that their were some disagreement between the Nigeria police and the Nigerian Armed Forces during the just concluded presidential elections in some states.
The force PRO said a total of 1,119 arrest has been made while 796 suspects were arrested during the presidential and National Assembly elections and 323 during governorship and state assembly elections.
Mba said the two security agencies are working seriously for continuous peaceful environment during and after the supplementary elections scheduled for 23rd of March 2019 in some states.
He advised every law abiding citizen in the effected states to go out and exercise their civic responsibilities and also to engage in their daily businesses and other legitimate endeavors without fear of intimidation.
In his remarks acting defense information colonel Oyenma Nwachukwu Reiterate commitment towards a peaceful conduct of the forthcoming supplementary elections scheduled.
The joint section also called for the support of the media and the entire populace for a secured and peaceful coexistence.
