Believe 2019: Samuel Moses For Presidential Race

Ekeh Jameson

A chieftain of the Delta State chapter of Labour Party, Prince Moses Samuel has declared his intention to run for the office of the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on the platform of the party in the forthcoming general election.

Speaking at the Lagos Airport Hotel, venue of the declaration on Tuesday, PMS as he is fondly called by his admirers and political associates expressed deep concern over the plight of Nigerians occasioned by the “change” the present administration has brought upon them.

The presidential aspirant said the Labour party administration under him would provide alternative change which would alleviate the sufferings of Nigerians.
He promised to pursue a 4point agenda of human capital development, civil service/institutional reforms, infrastructural development and trade and economic reform if elected

In his remark, the Delta State chairman of the party, Chief Anthony Ezeagu said the LP had brought a message of hope that would take Nigerians to greater heights and called on all Nigerians to support Prince Moses and the party to salvage the country.
“My presence here today shows that Delta state is in full support of Prince Samuel Moses. The Labour party is the only credible party that can provide alternative. We are not going to change the change but we are going to provide the change Nigerians are looking for,” he said.

“Nigerians are suffering and need a change. We shall support any candidate that emerges from Labour party. We must not play with 2019 election. Labour party will rescue this country,” he added.

Other speakers at the event were unanimous in their resolve to support PMS and the Labour Party to rescue the country come 2019.

We have come here today to flag off what will go down in the history of Nigeria as the turning point in our polity and democracy. Our country – this great Federal Republic of Nigeria – has seen diverse shades and forms of leaders and have indeed as expected suffered some tinkering since independence having been thrust into a system of government that is alien to our culture which is diverse.

This diversity of our culture and ethnicity which should, where properly harnessed work to our collective advantage; has been used by some self-seeking individuals with very parochial minds, to divide us, hence the mistrust and apathy of most of the nationals.

Over the years by this reason of diverse cultures and values of all the various federating units we have had issues come up to threaten the unity of this nation and her very existence. Our country, this great republic, means nothing unless it means the triumph of a real democracy, the triumph of a popular government, and at the end, of an economic system under which each man shall be guaranteed the opportunity to show the best that there is in him.

Our political development has been much of a struggle, and as is inevitable with all such struggles, it has had a dark and terrible side. Very much was done of good, and much also of evil; and, as is inevitable in such periods, often the same man did both good and evil.

We have come here today as I declare my intention to run for the Office of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to tell Nigerians that I believe that Nigeria has not gone beyond redemption.

We have watched clips of Nigerians drowning in the waters of Mediterranean in their bid to escape this nation to Europe, we have watched young men and women humiliated in some African Nations because they no longer believe in the ability of their fatherland to provide them with basic needs which includes, food, shelter, and job security. Etc. Some of us see these clips and are not moved by them. Some even query the sanity of these young ones who are only responding to the need of self- preservation. The truth is that with what they had suffered their fears are founded, because so many of them live below the poverty line and there seem to be no hope even as professed by some.

Nevertheless, I believe in the nation Nigeria. I believe there is nothing fundamentally wrong with Nigeria as we have everything it takes to transform this nation into an enviable nation with a viable and thriving economy.

Nigeria’s best days lie in the decisions we make in the 2019 general election. The journey to the promised Nigeria we all envisioned is not possible without the sincere commitment and active participation of every Nigerian.

I Moses Samuel on the platform of the Labour Party headed by its National Chairman, Alhaji Abdulkadir Abdulsalm intend to offer a system where an average Nigerian can use his/ her God given talents to fulfill his /her purpose in life.

I therefore implore all men, women and youths to rise up from our despondency, refuse to give in to apathy and believe with me, because together we can put this nation back on the path of sustainable growth and prosperity through this forthcoming election.

As I declare to run for the office of the President, Federal Republic of Nigeria today, my good people of Nigeria, I also, with the permission of the National Chairman of Labour Party open up the platform and invite well-meaning Nigerians to be a part of this great party: the Party with the economic solution for Nigeria’s greatness. Join the campaign to make Nigeria great again. For all those who are at war politically, it is time to throw away your weapons of war and embrace peace for the sake of Nigeria.
To deliver on our promise to make Nigeria great again, our Four-Point Agenda is as follows:

• Human Capital Development:
It is important to note that our greatest asset as a nation is the People. There is an urgent need to invest in the development of the capacity of the Nigerian people, especially the youth, through an overhauling of our educational system and provision of quality formal, informal and technical trainings. The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of our nation will only grow when the capacity for productivity steadily increases. Our proposed reforms will cut across all industries thus not only providing jobs for the youth in Nigeria but also providing the necessary environment that will make them job creators.

I Believe in a Nigeria where all the citizens are equal and valued both at home and in diaspora. I Believe in a Nigeria where equity and justice can reign again. I Believe we the people of this nation can join hands together with renewed resolve to make this nation great again. I Believe we can shun the challenges of our differences as a people and ride on them to build a nation with diverse beauty. I Believe in a Nigeria where all lives and properties are not only valued, but protected religiously.

I Believe we can rise above the quagmire of our challenges to become the pride of Africa at large. I Believe in the project Nigeria and I Believe that I, Prince Moses Samuel have been equipped and prepared to lead the great people of this nation to this New Nigeria. It is with this unwavering belief that I have decided to contest for the office of the President, Federal Republic of Nigeria come 2019 on the platform of Labour Party.

The Labour Party is not a 3rd force political party as some may think, but the 1st Youth Force Political Party which have come on a rescue mission to redirect the affairs of our country right and well. Labour Party is that political party that carries the dreams and aspirations of the common Nigerian which is yet to be realized.

Labour Party is that Political Party where sincere desire to work flows in our veins. The founding fathers of our party envisioned a country where all, irrespective of tribes and religion could live together and exploit the vast opportunities offered by our diversities and the vastness of our land and resources; where the Nigerians that, as it were, have felt left out of the scheme of things or the polity will be brought back on course; where security both of work and life for all will be guaranteed; where we will have the opportunity to upturn the statistics in the health system.

I, Moses Samuel, BELIEVE in cooperation rather than conflicts; empowerment rather than resentment and unity rather than division. I Believe, Nigeria is endowed with great potentials for success; therefore, unlocking this potential is a GOAL which I am fully positioned to tackle. Although the journey so far as a nation has been plagued with distrust, suspicion, social upheaval and religious intolerance, in all, I BELIEVE IN NIGERIA and the NIGERIA DREAMS of a strong and great nation.

Civil Service/Institutional Reforms:

One of the institutional structures that aids and abates corruption in Nigeria today is the Civil Service, hence the need for urgent reforms. When one is hungry, the tendency to steal becomes an option. When the civil servant is paid less even with his ability, constitutional right and qualification or possibly denied his salary, naturally, he would love to help himself to meet his/her needs by whatever available government means, legal or illegal. Therefore, we shall embark on a total reform of the Civil Service at all levels.

• Infrastructural Development:
Nigeria is a Nation with over 170 million people with 60% of this population being active youths. Therefore, making the nation habitable and comfortable with necessary social amenities to attract investment will be very necessary. We shall ensure the provision of good roads, power, water, and telecommunication. Investment in Agriculture shall be a national issue and a main stay in the government’s economic reforms policy. We shall create National Farm in all the states of the federation to take advantage of the vast arable land and increase food production thereby increasing our overall GDP.

• Trade and Economic Reform:
Our trade and economic reforms shall include the attraction of Foreign Direct Investment, rehabilitation of sea ports and a review of tariffs, review of the Mineral Act and passage of the Petroleum Industry Bill.
We will also engage in Fiscal and Monetary policy reforms as a tool for stabilizing the economy.

Fellow Nigerians, it is important for us to know that we have a big job on our hands and we must deliver. Gather yourselves together; join me and the Labour Party as we mobilize Nigerians for this great change and economic restoration. Vote for ME and the Labour Party in the forthcoming General Elections in 2019. I believe in you and I believe in Nigeria. It is our promise; we will not fail nor disappoint you. Thank you and God bless you all for coming.
Long Live the Labour Party of Nigeria
Long Live the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Spread the love
